Sun-Made Bentonite

What makes our bentonite special is the drying process. When bentonite is mined from below the ground it has a high moisture content ~30%. Its one of it’s amazing properties. But almost every use of bentonite requires a dry product ready to absorb moisture. Most producers us coal or gas fired dryers. This requires extensive infrastructure, cost, and creates large amounts of CO2 emissions. It also potentially damages the bentonite and causes the bentonite to absorb some of the smell and toxins of the emissions.

The solution?
To our founder Jim this was a simple problem. As a Wyoming farmer he was all too aware of the drying effects of disking fields in the dry and hot Wyoming summers. But for wet bentonite this would be the perfect solution.

Benefits

  • CO2 Emissions Are 4,802% Less Than Coal Drying
  • Bentonite Has A Soft Feel
  • Dust Is Reduced
  • Increased Clumping Capability
  • The Clay Never Exceeds 120 Degrees Fahrenheit So The Quality Is Not Degraded
